SSE – Beatrice Offshore Windfarm

We had a key role in the Beatrice offshore wind farm project, subcontracted by Glacier Inspection Services to conduct ultrasonic testing on the welds of fabricated jackets. These jackets, constructed by Smulders for one of Scotland’s significant renewable energy projects, are crucial for supporting the farm’s 84 Siemens turbines.

Our team’s task was to ensure the structural integrity of these components. Using ultrasonic testing, our technicians examined the welds to confirm their quality. This non-destructive testing is essential for verifying the durability and safety of the structures.

The Beatrice wind farm, with its capacity of 588MW, is set to power around 470,000 homes. Being a part of the £2.6 billion BOWL project, our work at Triton Inspections highlights our commitment to supporting renewable energy and the importance of reliable NDT techniques in infrastructure projects.

At Triton Inspections, we focus on thorough inspections to aid in the advancement of sustainable energy solutions.
