Our Approach

Advancing Precision with Phased Array Ultrasonic Technology, Full Matrix Capture, and Total Focusing Method

At Triton Inspections, our dedication to improving inspection accuracy is reflected in our use of Phased Array Ultrasonic Technology and Full Matrix Capture (FMC) with Total Focusing Method (TFM). By integrating these advanced technologies, we surpass conventional inspection approaches, offering precision, detail, and comprehensive analysis.

Phased Array Ultrasonics is the foundation of our methodology at Triton Inspections. This technology advances beyond traditional single-element transducers by employing a series of small ultrasonic elements thus creating an array. Through phased firing of these elements’ we can finely shape and steer ultrasonic beams. This leads to enhanced, real-time imaging of weld geometries, enabling us to detect subtle defects, discontinuities, and variations in material properties with improved accuracy.

FMC is a revolutionary technique within Phased Array Ultrasonic Technology that captures a complete set of data from each element in the array. Unlike traditional approaches that rely on fixed focusing, FMC allows for flexibility in focusing the ultrasonic beam at various depths and angles during post-processing. This results in improved accuracy and resolution, providing a more comprehensive understanding of a components condition.

Total Focusing Method takes the capabilities of Phased Array Ultrasonics a step further by utilising the full set of data acquired through FMC. TFM synthesises multiple focused images, allowing for precise and accurate imaging of complex geometries and providing a more detailed inspection of components. This method enhances flaw detection capabilities and offers a superior level of imaging for critical sizing.

Our dedication to superior quality goes hand in hand with ongoing innovation. At Triton Inspections, we adopt the newest developments in Phased Array Ultrasonic Technology, FMC, and TFM, guaranteeing our clients access to solutions that consistently lead the way in industry standards.

Our method goes further than standard inspections. Utilising Advanced Ultrasonics, we customise our inspection processes to meet the specific challenges posed by certain materials. This becomes especially important for materials such as austenitic and TMCP steel, where conventional approaches might not suffice. The adaptability provided by these techniques allows for a detailed assessment, regardless of the material’s complications.

We place a strong emphasis on data integrity and analysis. With Advanced Ultrasonics, we’re capable of collecting, examining, and saving a substantial amount of information, providing our clients with comprehensive reports. This data-centric strategy supports informed decision-making, facilitating proactive maintenance and the refinement of asset management practices.

The combination of Phased Array Ultrasonic Technology, FMC, and TFM enables us to take a proactive approach to maintenance planning. Identifying potential problems with accuracy allows us to help our clients to tackle issues before they develop further, enhancing the life expectancy of assets and components.

In essence our approach is centered on the effective use of Phased Array Ultrasonic Technology, Full Matrix Capture, and Total Focusing Method. At Triton Inspections, we aim to elevate inspection standards, ensuring every assessment is conducted with high precision, reliability, and insightful analysis.
